About Us
Our health and well being is something that we can control. While getting old is inevitable, feeling old is optional if we take the correct steps. At ExercisebyDesign we approach wellness from 3 angles, strength, nutrition and emotional well being. We use state of the art MedX machines along with our protocol of slow and controlled high intensity movement to provide the safest and most effective workout in the minimum amount of time. Whether you are looking to improve your strength, increase muscle function or find a safe program to continue rehabilitation until you regain full capacity, our skilled coaches will work with you to set up the ideal program. Combined with a solid nutritional program, an emotional acupuncture technique, and chi gong classes, our clients will find all the components vital to reaching their goals.

Kim Kolb, EFT-ADV Practitioner
CPT, Post Rehab Conditioning Specialist
All my life I have had a passion for health and wellness and all that it encompasses.
After having back surgery two years ago and watching my sons and husband go through shoulder surgeries, this passion not only grew but changed in its focus. My true desire now is to help others avoid the health issues I’ve seen and experienced by helping them achieve muscle balance, nutritional health and emotional well being.
After many years of teaching aerobics and leading other health oriented classes in California, I became a Certified Personal Trainer after relocating to Ohio. After working at Ballys and training people privately at their homes, I ventured into the world of physical therapy and sports medicine where I worked for Dr. Antony George in Willoughby Hills, Ohio. Seeing a need to help bridge the gap between healthcare and fitness, I recently received my Post Rehab Certification and am currently studying for Medical Exercise Specialist.
Laura Dugan, CPT
Laura is a Certified Personal Trainer through The American College of Sports Medicine and a Certified Flexibility Specialist through the founder of Active-Isolated Stretching, Aaron Mattes. She has worked with World Renowed Trainers, Jim and Phil Wharton at the Wharton Performance Center specializing in the Active-Isolated Stretching technique.
With over 20 years of experience, Laura can teach you this ground breaking flexibility technique that has helped millions of people and professional athletes.
As we grow older our tendons and ligaments lose their elasticity, resulting in tight muscles and joints. With this decrease in movement, blood circulation decreases to the muscles and joints which makes us more prone to injury. Active-Isolated can open up your joints, increase circulation and rejuvinate you.
My hours @ Exercise By Design are Tuesdays 8am to 11:30am and 3pm to 7pm. I am also available Thursdays, 8am to 12pm and Saturday by appointment.
Marjorie L. Esser, LMT
I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1993. I am trained in Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Muscle Energy Technique, Swedish Massage, Infant Massage, and Neuromuscular Therapy. I am certified in Muscle Release Technique, Emotional Freedom Technique and Reiki. I have been trained in MRT with the founder, Michael Young, NCBTMB, founder of RUIT® which is a technique for repetitive use injuries. MRT is a technique that combines pressure with stretch and breathwork that when applied, will give relief from pain in approximately one treatment. Once applied, muscle memory is restored, tissue is lengthened, breaking up scar tissue and bringing nutrition to the area through improved blood flow. I have worked on various members of the Cleveland-San Jose Ballet Company, various professional athletes and some prominent musicians. I have provided chair massage to several local schools for teacher appreciation day. I have extensive experience in working on people who suffer with chronic pain. I have worked with several Chiropractors and Occupational Medicine Physicians. I have been involved in a national pain management blind-study offered through University Hospitals at an occupational medicine clinic. I have taught for the Massotherapy program at Cuyahoga Community College.
Beth Giorgi, Certified Personal Trainer
Beth Giorgi is a certified personal trainer, has been involved in the fitness industry since 1992. She completed the 200 hour OM Yoga training program in 2006. Beth has broadened her awareness of yoga by taking workshops with Bryan Kest, Todd Norian, Simon Park, Elise Miller, local teachers from Cleveland Yoga and Evolution Yoga, and her OM teacher, Joe Miller. Beth has teaching experience with diversified groups of people. Beth has instructed at a variety of clubs and institutions throughout the Cleveland area. Teaching Vinyasa Yoga classes maximizes the sum of her fitness experiences prior to, and including, her education as a yoga instructor. ìYoga has strengthened me physically, while deepening and reinvigorating my spiritual life. I look forward to continuing my journey under the instruction of a variety of teachers. My hope is to teach people to become stronger, feel better, enjoy the present moment, and love more.
Janee Kuta-Iliano, Holistic Health Educator and Wellness Coach
Janee Kuta-Iliano is a Holistic Health Educator and Wellness Coach. She is a Certified Colon Hydrotherapist and an Internal Cleansing & Detoxification Coach with training in Raw, Living Foods Education & Live Blood Microscopy. Janee's passion is to empower others to take control of their health and well-being. It is her belief that we must all do our part in building a healthier lifestyle. Janee has studied extensively how to cleanse and detoxify our body and teaches how to safely and effectively purify our bodies for improved health and vitality.
